Bickford's Process: Bringing Your Flavor to Life
There are two primary needs for custom flavors:
- You are using a different company's flavor and would like Bickford to match the flavor. In this case, you will need to send us a sample of the flavor to be matched.
- You would like Bickford to create a new flavor. In this case, we ask questions such as:
- What product will the flavor be used in?
- Does it need to be oil- or water-based?
- What kind of flavor profile does it need?
- Who is the product for and what message do you want the flavor to convey?
- What are the customer-required or regulatory requirements? For example, does it need to be vegan or non-GMO?
Once we know what you’re aiming for, our flavor lab goes to work crafting the flavor. We will send you a sample for feedback to ensure the flavor meets your taste, label and regulatory requirements. Once the sample is approved, the custom flavor will be available to you in gallon sizes or larger.
